Sponsored by her 31st District Rep. Drew Stokesbary, Daniella Mann spent the week of Jan. 22-26 serving as a page in the state House of Representatives.

The page program is designed to educate students on the legislative process and expose them to the work being done at the state Capitol in Olympia. During her service Mann delivered messages and documents to legislators and staff, and assisted representatives during House floor debates and voting.

“It is important our young people take an interest in how their state government works. It was an honor to sponsor Daniella in the House page program,” said Stokesbary, R-Auburn. “Daniella is a bright individual. I hope she stays engaged in state government as she continues her education.”

Mann is the daughter of Marc and Debbie Mann.

During her week in Olympia, Mann attended page school every day to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature. Pages work on a culminating project and write a piece of legislation, then present the bill in a mock committee hearing to fellow pages.

To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school. Pages earn $35 per day while serving in the program. For more information about the House page program, visit leg.wa.gov.
