Despite rain and wet fields at nearby Brannan Park, Auburn Little League went indoors to celebrate the official opening of the new season last Saturday.

In the confines of the Cascade Middle School gymnasium, Mayor Nancy Backus, a lefty, threw out the first pitch, and a parade of players, coaches and families helped usher in the new season.
