Driven to help the fire victims

Auburn Mountainview High School joins relief effort

Volunteers, including Joey Santos, above left, an Auburn Mountainview High School alumnus, and his mom, Abby Santos, came together this week to collect and sort a large collection of clothing and items donated to the Auburn Food Bank for victims of the Dec. 26 Heritage Building fire.

The high school commons served as a collection and distribution center this week.

People who were displaced were able to come in and select what they needed. The remaining items will be shared with a variety of services, including homeless shelters, Goodwill, school drives and other outlets.
