VRFA fire and rescue blotter | March 9

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 223 calls for service between Feb. 26 and March 4, among them the following:

Feb. 26

Aid call: 7:30 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and Pacific Police responded to a young man who’d sustained injuries in an assault, firefighters treated him at the scene for minor injuries, and a private ambulance transported him to to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Feb. 27

Aid call: 8:08 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters examined a disoriented man, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Feb. 28

Aid call: 2:42 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated a toddler who’d fallen down some stairs, and determined that it was OK for the boy to stay at home.

March 1

Aid call: 3:50 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters treated an ailing senior citizen with a decreased level of consciousness, and a private ambulance zipped her off to MAMC.

March 2

Illegal burn: 3 p.m., (Algona). Responding to an outdoor smoke investigation, firefighters found a homeowner burning brush, notified him of burning regulations and saw to the extinguishment of the fire.

March 3

Broken water line: 10:33 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and Pacific Police responded to a broken residential water line and called the water department. Pacific Police remained on scene to await the arrival of the water department.

March 4

Service call: 6:45 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a vehicle that had crashed into a single-family home discovered on arrival that the occupants of the vehicle had fled the scene. Firefighters assessed the building damage, and Auburn Police stayed on scene to wait for a tow truck.
