Auburn residents can buy a new bike or get their bike serviced conveniently in downtown Auburn.

Cycle Therapy opened its newest store Monday at its second location at 104 E. Main St.

Cycle Therapy, co-owned by Bob Smith and Ric Hutchens, offers bicycle sales and service. The store sells multiple well-known cycling brands, including Kona, Raleigh, Diamondback, Redline, Niner, Santa Cruz Mountain Bikes and Seven Cycles.

Cycle Therapy also offers prompt, quality bicycle care services to its customers, including its signature “Free Service for Life” and all minor adjustments for free for customers who buy a new bike from any of their top brands. (Does not include non-normal wear and tear repairs.)

“I was very happy when Bob joined our Bicycle Task Force several months ago,” said Mayor Pete Lewis. “Bob and Ric’s decision to locate in downtown Auburn is a great addition to our downtown business mix. Plus, their store’s close proximity to the Interurban Trail will be an added benefit for the many riders that use this important north-south trail for commuting and recreation.”

Hutchens, an Auburn native, is excited about the opportunity.

“I first became passionate about cycling here,” he said. “For me, cycling is a way of life that is fun, healthy and good for the environment. I am excited to share my knowledge, enthusiasm, and love of this activity with the people of this community.”

Smith added: “Auburn offers a great opportunity for our business because of its network of bicycle trails and its excellent access to public transportation. Mayor Lewis, city officials, and the Bicycle Task Force were incredibly helpful in the establishment of our Auburn shop.”
