City and business leaders celebrated the official grand opening of Pick-Quick Drive In with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the iconic South Sound burger joint’s second location in Auburn on March 8.

Those attending the opening included Mayor of Auburn Pete Lewis; Auburn Police Chief Bob Lee; Nancy Wyatt, president of the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce; Pioneer Queen Donnie Berry and Auburn City Council members.

Gerard Centioli, president and CEO of Pick-Quick, presented a $1,949 check and 15 loaves of local cheese to the Auburn Food Bank in celebration of the 1949 establishment of the original Pick-Quick Drive In in Fife.

“We are gratified by such a warm reception from the Auburn community,” Centioli said. “The people of Auburn have welcomed us into their lives in the same spirit of tradition that has made the Fife restaurant so successful for 62 years. We are excited to uphold Pick-Quick’s tradition of fresh, natural food.”

The 2,450-square-foot restaurant, located at 1132 Auburn Way N., features 28 dining room and seven indoor bar seats, a drive-thru window, an additional 44 picnic table seats and eight children’s picnic table seats outdoors for guests to enjoy during warm-weather months.

The restaurant also features floor-to-ceiling glass windows so customers can see every aspect of the food making process and each chair is made from 111 recycled Coca-Cola bottles.

Pick-Quick Drive In No. 2 will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
