Join me in voting ‘yes’ for the Auburn School District

I am proud of the support our district provides to encourage all students in reaching their academic potential. As a member of the Auburn community, I understand how critical the two issues on the February special election ballot are to maintaining and enhancing student achievement.

I am proud of the support our district provides to encourage all students in reaching their academic potential. As a member of the Auburn community, I understand how critical the two issues on the February special election ballot are to maintaining and enhancing student achievement.

As a current Auburn School District educator, I urge you to vote “yes” for the proposed levy and bond measures.

The replacement levy provides direct services to students through lower class sizes and enhanced instruction. In my role as a STEP (Student Teacher Enrichment Program) teacher at the elementary level, I understand that this funding allows for academic enrichment activities at the elementary, middle school and high school level.

Students have the opportunity to have honors and advanced placement classes as well as a full contingency of art and athletics because previous voters have seen the wisdom in providing a well-rounded education for Auburn students.

In addition to a tradition of strong academic programs, the school house where education occurs must keep pace with the needs of our students. While the Auburn School District has provided a strong record of stewardship for Auburn High School, the opportunity to improve the building including current safety measures for earthquakes, more cost effective and energy efficient heating and cooling systems and technology infrastructure that supports the needs of the 21st century student will never be better.

The members of the Auburn community can be assured that their support on the proposed levy and bond for the Auburn School District is money well spent. Our current and future students depend on our thoughtful vote to facilitate their academic success.

Please join with me in voting “yes” for our Auburn Students and schools by Feb. 14.
