Auburn Community Players set March 5 auditions for ‘Bye Bye Birdie’

The Auburn Community Players is holding auditions for its second production, “Bye Bye Birdie.”

Auditions will be taken from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 5 at the Auburn Ave Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Those wishing to audition for the show, please call 253-833-5678 to set up an appointment.

Auditioners are asked to provide a head shot/picture, prepare a song from musical theater and a one-to-two-minute monologue. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist is provided. CD accompaniment also is acceptable.

The show, one of the most captivating musical shows of all time, is a satire done with the fondest affection and tells the story of a rock-n-roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army. “An English Teacher”, “What Did I Ever See in Him?”, “Put on a Happy Face”, “One Boy”, “A Lot of Livin’ to Do, Kids”, “Rosie” and “Spanish Rose” are musical theater classics.

The stage musical will be performed at the Ave on June 3-4, 10-11 at 7:30 p.m. and June 5 and 11 at 2 p.m.
