Auburn series braces for DeLorean invasion

The Pacific Northwest DeLorean Club will visit Les Gove Park on Aug. 28 as special guests to the final Summer Sounds & Comcast Cinema event.

The sports car club’s visit fittingly comes with the evening’s viewing of the hit 1980s movie, “Back to the Future” (rated PG). The DeLorean DMC-12 was featured as a time machine designed by Dr. Emmett Brown in the “Back to the Future” trilogy.

The series, presented by the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department, will include a performance from No Rules, a band with a rich and diverse ’60s, ’70s and ’80s sound.

The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Food concessions, operated by Auburn’s Youth Council, will be available at the event for a nominal fee. Free children’s crafts will offered by Communities in School of Auburn.

Patrons may bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. The event is free.
