CDT to perform ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ at the Ave

Children’s Dance Theater will present “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” at the Auburn Avenue Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Show time is 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dancer’s ages 5-10 have been rehearsing twice a week for the past three weeks to bring the ballet to life. Guest performers Mackenzie Bir will dance the role of Snow White, Branden Griffith will dance the role of Prince Charming and Taylor Bir will dance the role of the Wicked Queen.

“It has been an exciting and a whirlwind of a process. The dancers are doing exceptionally well,” said director Stephanie Cox. “For a few, this is their first dance experience.”

To prepare for the show, dancer’s have been attending an age-approprate ballet class, attending rehearsals, learning choreography and pantomime – not to mention costume fittings, walking in the Auburn Good O’l Day’s parade and dress rehearsal at the “the Ave,” Cox said.

“It is turning out to be a charming show with adorable forest creatures, a terrifying evil queen, the delightful dwarfs and the beautiful Snow white and her prince charming,” Cox said.

Tickets are available at the door for $8. Children under 3 may sit on a lap and do not need a ticket.

In addition, the theater is holding two open houses – 5-7 p.m., Aug. 27; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Aug. 29. The theater is located at 14 B St. NE, Suite 1 & 2, Auburn.
