ABOUT CALEA ACCREDITATION

The Auburn Police Department has been a CALEA accredited agency since 1997 and must comply with 352 law enforcement standards to maintain its CALEA accredited status.

Once every three years the department’s accreditation compliance is examined by a team of CALEA assessors who are also law enforcement professionals with other CALEA accredited agencies from across the country.

Verification by a team of law enforcement professionals that the Auburn Police Department meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art and national standards is part of a voluntary process to gain this highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence.

The onsite assessment team will consist of professionals from Chesterfield, Mo., Valdosta, Ga., and Littleton, Co.

A copy of the Auburn Police Department Manual of Standards is available for review in the Records Reception area at the Auburn Police Department.
