45th annual Veterans Day Parade & Observance: 11 a.m., Nov. 6, Main Street, Auburn. One of the largest Veterans Day Parades west of the Mississippi, the mile-long Veterans Day Parade proceeds west on Main Street from E Street SE to B Street NW in Auburn and will include a military flyover, marching bands, honor guards, military marching units and vehicles, veterans units, drill teams, community and scouting groups, as well as floats, antique cars, horses, dogs, kids, and more. The day kicks off with a breakfast, sponsored by the American Legion, which is followed by a remembrance ceremony. A static display and exhibit showcase is held along the parade route from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The Auburn Noon Lions luncheon and an open house at the VFW follow the parade. The day includes a large marching band and field competition at Auburn Memorial Stadium. The 45th annual observance includes a traveling wall tribute, which is open 24 hours a day, beginning Nov. 4. Oncology on Canvas, Expressions of a Cancer Journey: 5-7 p.m., Nov. 9, Auburn Regional Cancer Center at 121 N. Division St., Auburn. The nationally touring exhibit was developed by Eli Lilly and Company as a way to honor those who are impacted by cancer. The artworks are created by people who have been diagnosed with cancer, their family and friends or healthcare providers. It documents their journey, hope and inspiration.
