The Auburn City Hall Gallery will host an artist’s reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Jan. 14 for photographers Ann Quinn and Victoria Bjorkland. Admission is free.

The gallery is featuring the black-and-white photographs of Quinn and Bjorkland through Jan. 29.

The exhibit showcases Quinn’s series of portraits, taken with traditional film cameras and using darkroom processing to illustrate her flower portraits.

Quinn describes her process as “offering my camera to the light – light from a flower, or as it enters a room or finds its way below the waterline to illuminate hard working places we seldom see.”

The exhibit also features the work of Tacoma-based artist Bjorkland’s “Glass Figments” series, which juxtaposes urban window displays and their reflections to create a narrative.

The Auburn City Hall Gallery is located at 25 W. Main St. and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
