Auburn, Kent animal shelters offer reduced adoption fees

Prices for dogs, cats drop during holiday special at each facility

Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is teaming up with Auburn Valley Humane Society (AVHS) to lower pet adoption fees during the “Home for the Holidays” special.

Now through Dec. 31, you can adopt an adult dog (1 year or older) for $50, or a puppy (under 1 year) for $100. If you fancy felines, you can adopt an adult cat (six months or older) for just $30, or a kitten (under six months) for $50, according to a Dec. 8 RASKC and AVHS joint news release.

Adopting a shelter animal can be a very rewarding experience, according to the news release. RASKC and AVHS both seek to place great pets into great homes. All adopters are welcome, and each shelter aims to find a great match for every potential adopter by providing as much information as possible about each animal, and ultimately allowing each adopter to make the final decision about what is right for their family.

The King County Pet Adoption Center is at 21615 64th Ave. S., in Kent, and open noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Auburn Valley animal shelter is at 4910 A St. SE, in Auburn, and open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Prospective adopters are encouraged to visit the shelters in person to pick out the perfect pet.
