Auburn Mountainview downs Peninsula 65-42, Auburn beats Tahoma 46-44 | Boys Prep Basketball

The Lions coasted to a 65-42 win over South Puget Sound League 3A foes Peninsula Tuesday night in Gig Harbor.

Auburn Mountainview (2-1 league, 9-4 overall) posted a 39-21 halftime lead and held off the Seahawks (0-3, 3-10) in the second half.

Marion Beauchamp led the way with a game-high 24 points, with J.J. Lacey adding seven and Dominic Rockey and Drew Sleezer adding six points apiece.

Peninsula was led by Cody Olson’s 14 points.

The Lions will host Enumclaw (1-2, 3-8) at 7 p.m. Friday.

Auburn Mountainview will also play in the Valley Medical Shootout at 11:30 a.m. Monday, taking on Cascade Christian at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

ALSO: The Auburn boys rebounded from last Friday’s loss to Auburn Riverside by edging out Tahoma 46-44 in SPSL North 4A action on Tuesday. The Trojans (4-5, 6-7) were led by Nik Edwardson’s 15 points, with Harold Lee adding 14.

The Bears (4-5, 6-7) were paced by Paul Loranger’s 15 points. Auburn will travel to Kentwood (6-3, 8-5) at 7:30 p.m. Friday… Auburn Riverside (2-6, 2-9) had a bye on Tuesday and will resume play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Kentridge (4-5, 7-6).
