Aug. 2

Trespassing: 7:28 a.m., 918 H St. SE. Three grownups got the early morning “git” from the White River Valley Museum, which, it seems, was not amused by their undisclosed shenanigans.

Animal problem: 8:59 a.m., 4201 A St. SE. A veterinary clinic reported a customer having multiple prescriptions for his or her dog that had been written by numerous vet clinics in the area.

Hit and run: 5:15 p.m., 400 block of 28th Street Southeast. A driver knocked down a mailbox, parked his car then fled the area on foot.

Aug. 4

Animal problem: 9:38 a.m., 700 block of 5th Street Southeast. Auburn’s animal control officer impounded an unlicensed dog, whereupon the owner interfered and was cited.

Fly away: 3:47 p.m., 400 16th St. NE. For undisclosed trouble-making, a man and a woman were told to leave Auburn Airport Plaza property and parking lot.

Theft: 6:02 p.m., Auburn Way N. A man complained that while he was test driving an automobile, a local car dealership stole stuff from his vehicle.

Arson: 2:12 a.m., 1015 24th St. NE. A person or persons unknown set fire to a metal trash can next to the baseball field at Cascade Middle School.

Theft: 3 p.m., 3614 Orchard St. SE. A woman called 911 to report that some time over the past two weeks, an unknown subject had taken a 5-shot .38 caliber revolver from her bedside table.

Aug. 6

Burglary: 7:10 a.m.. 1811 Howard Road SE. Responding to the keening of a commercial burglary alarm, police surprised a burglar as he was leaving a business, bearing a large box. Seeing police, the burglar took to his larcenous heels, but he didn’t get far. Officers recovered the box, which contained the store’s cellphone inventory.

Vandalism: 2:53 a.m., 1465 8th St. NE. An unidentified object shattered a sliding glass door.

Aug. 8

Vandalism: 12:48 p.m., 2810 D Place SE. A woman called 911 to report that her kitchen window screen had sustained damage during an argument with a neighbor.

Theft: 8 p.m., 5942 Peasley Canyon Road S. A person or persons unknown broke into a vehicle at the Peasley Park & Ride and stole a speaker and amplifier.
