Aug. 17

Theft from vehicle: 10 a.m., 30800 block of 112th Avenue Southeast. Somebody stole tools from a man’s parked pickup truck. Police did not disclose a value for the missing tools.

Shoplifting: 1 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Store security at Zumiez caught two boys shoplifting hats, so police swooped in and arrested those hat-stealing boys.

Shoplifting: 5:41 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Without troubling herself to pay, a woman left Safeway with a grocery basket of items, squeezed herself and her ill-gotten goodies into a beige Dodge Stratus with North Carolina plates and drove off. Police did not disclose a value for the missing groceries.

Theft: 9:30 a.m., 32500 block of 110th Avenue Southeast. Somebody swiped a laptop and a diaper bag from a vehicle.

Theft: 5 p.m., 101 15th St. NE. An Auburn resident told police that someone had stolen an undisclosed amount of money and a chainsaw of like undisclosed value from his vehicle.

Aug. 18

Controlled substance: 5:01 p.m., 2117 Auburn Way S. Police busted three men for possessing pot and paraphernalia in the parking lot of the Muckleshoot Bingo Hall.

Theft: 10:32 p.m., 4040 Auburn Way S. A man told police that somebody had prowled his vehicle and stolen his valuables — cigars, a broken cell phone, couple of Twinkies.

Theft: 10:35 a.m., 1300 block of 52nd Street Northeast. An Auburn resident reported that somebody had swiped a tool bag and garage door opener from a vehicle. Police did not disclose a value for the missing items.

Aug. 19

Hello, dolly: 5100 Frontage Road NW. The original owner of a tow dolly stolen in 2006 got it back.

Trespassing: 1:04 p.m., 1400 block of Elm Street Southeast. A man informed police that his ex-wife had come into his house eight days earlier without his say so.

Theft: 1 p.m., 5300 block of Highland Drive Southeast. A man reported that someone had broken out his daughter-in-law’s rear window and lifted a clothing bag with unknown items of undisclosed value inside.

Fraud: 3:24 p.m., 6000 block of Elizabeth Avenue Southeast. A woman told police she believed her son had stolen one of her checks, made the check payable to himself for $100 and forged her signature to open another bank account.

Theft: 4:45 a.m., 4900 block of Highland Court Southeast. An Auburn resident told police that somebody had stolen his radio and sunglasses from a parked vehicle. Police did not disclose a value for the missing radio and shades.

Aug. 20

Traffic offense: 1:09 a.m., 2000 block of B Street Northwest. Police arrested three adults for unlawful race attendance.

Aug. 21

Strong arm robbery of gas station: 2:11 p.m., 1501 Auburn Way N. A woman employed at a local gas station told police that a man she did not know had just robbed the station. After paying for an item, the man grabbed money from the register and fled on foot.

Theft: 4:55 p.m., 12313 SE. 314th Place. Police arrested a man for stealing ground wires from two utility poles.

Trespassing: 10 p.m., 800 4th St. NE. A passerby spied youth on the roof of Auburn High School, the youth attempted to escape but police caught and arrested those youth and turned them over to their parents pending filing with prosecutors.
