Feb. 24

Weapons offense: 8:23 a.m., 1400 block of 8th Street Northeast. A man called to report that he had just shot at a possible burglar, but when the evidence didn’t square with the guy’s story, police arrested him for illegally discharging his AR-15 in his apartment.

Commercial burglary: 11:08 a.m., 1520 14th St. NW. An employee of Lennox Hearth Products called to report the theft of an undisclosed amount of scrap metal. Police did not value a value for the missing metal.

Vandalism: 4:09 p.m., 30900 block of 133rd Avenue Southeast. Somebody saw a bunch of kids pitching snowballs at a window.

Vandalism: 11:40 p.m., 12700 block of Southeast 312th Street. An unknown subject kicked in an Auburn resident’s front door but made no attempt to enter, just ran off into the night.

Vandalism: 1:30 a.m., 200 block of 23rd Street Southeast. An unknown person chucked a rock through a front window. Police did not disclose the amount of damages.

Feb. 25

Animal problem: 8:26 a.m., 1400 block of 17th Street Southeast. A woman called 911 to report that she believed that the man living next door to her was abusing his dog.

Misdemeanor: 8:15 a.m., 55 West Valley Highway S. An unknown suspect attempted to steal gas from vehicles at Yahn & Son Funeral Home.

Theft: 10:30 a.m., 1231 Auburn Way N.  A woman reported that somebody had stolen her purse from a parking lot.

Theft: 9:08 p.m., 28900 124th Avenue SE. Somebody broke into a vehicle in the Mountainview High School parking lot and made off with numerous undisclosed items worth undisclosed amounts of money.

Feb. 26

Attempted truck theft: 11:24 a.m., 800 37th St. NW. Unknown persons tried to steal a 2010 F-150 from the Interurban Trail at 37th Street Northwest. The suspects left the scene in a red or maroon pickup truck.
