Feb. 21

House fire: 2:42 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters hustling to a house fire at 226 D St NW in Auburn found smoke showing from the upstairs of the two-story structure, so they entered the home, discovered a small fire on the second-floor hallway and put it out. Nobody was at home, nobody was hurt. The South King Fire Investigation Task Force determined that the fire was set. The Auburn Police Department is looking into what happened.

Feb. 22

Burn complaint: 4:02 p.m., (Auburn). Learning of a large outdoor burn near 53rd Street Sotheast and Kersey Way, firefighters checked out the report and found a resident burning yard debris and waste wood. The resident put the fire out and learned all about burning regulations.

Feb. 23

Aid call: 11:30 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped an older woman complaining of weakness. A private ambulance transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Feb. 24

Aid call: 1:18 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters helped an older woman suffering with chest pain. King County Medics transported the woman to ARMC in stable condition for further evaluation.

Feb. 25

Trailer fire: 12:37 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters responding to a reported occupied travel trailer fire found a fully involved travel trailer within four feet of a house. The trailer’s occupant had escaped without injury, and firefighters quickly controlled the conflagration. The South King Fire Investigation Task Force learned that the trailer’s owner had invadvertantly started the fire by trying to thaw his pipes with a torch.

Feb. 26

Aid call: 7:57 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and Auburn Police responded to a possible overdose. Firefighters stabilized the person and then a private ambulance transported him or her to ARMC.

Feb. 27

Aid call: 10:30 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a woman complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath. A private ambulance transported the woman to ARMC.
