April 26

Vandalism: 8:47 a.m., 4040 Auburn Way N. A man told police that someone had shoved a bottle full of gasoline up his vehicle’s tailpipe.

April 27

Metal thievery: 8 a.m., 3906 B Street Northwest. A suspect unknown cut copper wire from an air conditioning unit in an Auburn business. Police did not disclose a value for the loss.

Diaperlifting: 8:15 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for shoplifting two boxes of diapers from Safeway. The thief told police that he had intended to sell those nappies.

April 28

Get out!: A Street Southeast. Police told a man to go away and not come back to Zipperdoodles after employees had noticed him hanging around, acting all strange like.

April 30

Strong arm street robbery: 8:40 p.m., 12000 block of Southeast 318th Way. Two bad guys jumped a woman while she was checking her mail, tried to wrestle her purse from her, knocked her to the ground then ran off into the night without stealing anything.

May 2

Postal theft: 5:30 a.m., 1400 block of Lake Tapps Drive Southeast. A resident of the Palermo Apartments reported that persons unknown somehow got into mailboxes there and swiped everything.

Arson: 5:50 a.m., 620 37th St. SE. Persons unknown lit a Dumpster on fire.

Strong arm robbery: 7 p.m., 1100 Auburn Way S. Two males and two females robbed a developmentally disabled man in a wheelchair in a city park. The guy reported the theft when he reached a grocery store some 10 blocks away. He was not physically injured.

May 3

Burglary: Overnight, 3624 Auburn Way N. An employee of Public Storage called police after discovering someone had forced open doors to several rental storage rooms.

Purse theft: 10 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Somebody swiped a purse while its owner was busy in the Muckleshoot Casino. Police did not disclose a value for the loss.

Animal problem: 6:27 p.m., 200 block of G Street Southwest. A pit bull belonging to one of a man’s neighbors came into his yard, chased his dogs, and when he intervened, bit his thumb. One month earlier, he said, the same dog had gotten into his yard and killed his cat.

Theft: 5 p.m., 1300 block of K Street Northeast. Somebody stole a woman’s .38 Smith and Wesson from her home. Police did not disclose a value for the missing weapon.

Assault: 7:37 p.m., 1100 block of 33rd Street Southeast. Police arrested two known adults and three juvenile gang members for obstructing police during an investigation about a fight. One of the adults was charged with resisting arrest, and one of the boys with assault.

Theft: 6:15 a.m., 30303 R St. SE. Someone stole aluminum from the benches at Game Farm Park. Police did not disclose a value of the loss.

Theft from car: Overnight, 2600 block of 25th Street Southeast. Somebody stole a backpack and bag from a vehicle. Police did not disclose the value of the loss.
