Oct. 16

Theft from motor vehicle: 12:30 a.m., 2800 block of 22nd Street Southeast. Somebody got into a parked truck, stole an undisclosed amount of money and wolfed down some candy bars.

Oct. 18

Theft: 3:35 p.m., 1232 A St. NE. An employee of an undisclosed business called to report the theft of four nail guns from the business over several weeks. Police did not disclose the value of the missing nail guns.

Oct. 19

Theft of vehicle parts: Overnight, 801 C St. SW. Somebody smashed the driver’s window of a 2010 Subaru parked at Outback Autoworks and stole a stereo and speakers of undisclosed value.

Theft from a building: 4:50 p.m., 401 8th St. SW. A man told hotel management that money was missing from his son’s wallet after housekeeping cleaned their hotel rooms. Staff denied stealing any money from any of the guest’s rooms.

Strong arm robbery: 8:29 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. When an employee of the Alley Kat store at the SuperMall saw two girls steal clothing, she followed them outside the store and confronted them, whereupon one of the girls threw a stolen jacket from her purse onto the floor, and the two thieves kept walking. When the employee tried to get them to return, they refused, threatening to beat up the employee if she tried to bring them back. Once police detained the duo, the employee positively identified them. When police searched the girls they discovered that the two had swiped merchandise from several stores, including numerous articles of clothing from Alley Kat.

Theft: 7:36 p.m., 602 Auburn Way S. A woman accidentally left her electronic reader on the counter at Subway. Video recorded a male picking up the device and concealing it on his person. The thief fled the scene with his family when the victim returned and asked employees if they had her reader.
