The annual Downtown Auburn Food Drive begins Monday, Oct. 26 and runs through Nov. 20 in historic downtown.
Every year, participating businesses keep a container for residents to stop by and drop off food items. With more participants, and a drive-through option, organizers hope to help meet the needs in the Auburn community in a big way.
“This year we have a drive-through option for Auburn residents,” said Laura Westergard, executive director of the Auburn Downtown Association, “A Street Automotive is opening up their back area for residents who want to want to donate and drive on.”
A Street Automotive is located at 225 A St. SE.
Owner Allan Thomason suggested the idea and said donors can either drive in their front parking lot and go inside the store or drive behind the building for food dropoff. Shop hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
