Auburn Riverside tops Kentwood in 11-7 slugfest; Auburn thumped by No. 5 Tahoma 8-1 | SPSL North 4A Fastpitch

The Riverside girls smashed 13 hits in their 11-7 win over South Puget Sound League North 4A foe Kentwood on Friday.

The Ravens (7-3 league, 7-3 overall) jumped out to a 9-4 lead after two innings and added a run in the fifth inning and one in the sixth to top the Conquerors (7-7, 9-9) at Game Farm Park.

Auburn Riverside was led by Alyssa Jarman, who had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs, as well as the win in the circle.

Jamie Koenig had two doubles and three RBIs.

The Ravens, currently fourth in the SPSL North 4A, will wrap up their season this week with games against No. 3 ranked Kentlake(13-0, 14-0), at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Game Farm, and Kent-Meridian (0-13, 0-13), at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Kent-Meridian High School.

ALSO: Tahoma’s ace Sammi Jimenez was stellar in the circle against Auburn on Friday, holding the Trojans (3-10, 5-11) to just six hits and one run and delivering another win for the No. 5 ranked Bears (10-1, 12-1). Jimenez also had eight strikeouts in the game. The Trojans were led by Kristiana Strickland who had two hits. Auburn, seventh in the SPSL North 4A, finishes up it’s season on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. game at Kentridge (2-10, 2-12).
