Auburn will join the 25th annual National Night Out – a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch – on Aug. 5.

All neighborhoods are encouraged to be a part of the local team.

From 7 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 5, residents in neighborhoods throughout Auburn and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on the outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. It offers residents the chance to discuss ways to keep their neighborhoods safe.

To register your neighborhood event, or to inquire about further details, please call Andrew Gould, community programs officer, at 253-288-3147 or e-mail at agould@auburnwa.gov.

If desired, a city representative can make an appearance at your event to talk to attendees about fighting crime in their area.
