The Auburn VFW Post 1741 recently installed officers for 2010-11.

The Auburn VFW Post 1741 recently installed officers for 2010-11.

Installed were: Bill Peloza (commander); Tony Dohse (senior vice commander); Mike Sepal (junior vice commander); John Pepper (quartermaster); Phil McLaughlin (chaplain) and Jon Quackenbush (surgeon). The trustees are Ken Robinson, Cam Cutler and Don Cochran. Commander-appointed positions include: Paul Fison (adjutant); Chris Beverly (officer OTD); Ernie Londino (service officer) and Irwin Bergsma (guard).

In addition, VFW 1741’s “Flags for Food Bank” program recently was recognized by national VFW headquarters as a superior community project. The VFW provides a free 3×5 U.S. flag to replace worn and tattered flags in communities it serves. In return, the Post asks those receiving the flag to make a donation to the food bank.

Post 1741 gathers on the fourth Tuesday of each month for dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a meeting. The Post is located at 1525
