Auburn’s Shawn A. Frazier represented the College of Education at Washington State University during commencement last Saturday. He was recognized for his achievements during his time at WSU.

As a first generation college student, Frazier has juggled many obligations, including working full-time, being a teacher assistant for two undergraduate courses, and being part of the review team and directing the editing process for the peer reviewed kinesiology student journal “The Works.” He was also a member of the Northwest Student Professional Network while taking part in its conferences, community service and group activities.

“The progress of the students in the research progress and in writing ability has increased two to three levels.” said Lawrence Bruya, professor of kinesiology. “Shawn is the reason. He has been excellent.”

After graduation, Frazier aspires to become a physical therapist and is deciding between going straight to physical therapy school or serving in the military, where he can potentially continue his education.

Frazier, son of John and April Frazier, attended Green River Community College and Kentlake High School.
