For the Reporter
The 21st annual Show & Shine takes over Pacific City Park on Saturday, Aug. 17, featuring hundreds of vintage automobiles from all over and 26 trophy categories.
The show is the largest fundraiser for Terry Home, a non-profit charity providing housing for young adult survivors of traumatic brain injuries.
The annual gathering of restored and historic vehicles, hot rods and classics is a popular event. Open to all vehicles, the show highlights vehicular Americana and the talents of restoration and craftsmanship. As music fills the air and barbecue fills the belly, a large number of raffle prizes offers an opportunity to win something special while making a donation that helps others.
Trophies and awards to be awarded for favorite: Stock Classic, Muscle Car, Street Rod, Early Truck, Motorcycle, Unfinished, Customized, Engine, Interior, Low & Cool and a number of others.
Show hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Pacific City Park is at 600 3rd Ave. SE.
In addition to live music, a variety of food and vendors round out the day’s entertainment along with children’s activities and a poker walk.
“This is our 21st year with this show and we really pull out all the stops,” said Myla Montgomery, Terry Home board president. “There’s something for everyone here so it’s a terrific day.”
UA Plumbers and Pipefitters – Local 32, along with the Quality Inn in Pacific, are sponsoring the event.
