Chamber elects board members for ’10-11

The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected its officers for the 2010-2011 year at its Feb. 23 meeting.

Terry Davis, director of government affairs/franchising with Comcast, was elected as chairman of the board. Michele Oosterink, vice president and manager at Columbia Bank (North Auburn Branch), will be the first vice chair, and Ron Copple, owner of Copple Insurance Group, will serve as the second vice chair.

“We are pleased with the experience and expertise of the individuals stepping up to lead our chamber,” said Nancy Wyatt, president and COO for the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce. “It is under their guidance and direction that the chamber is able to offer a diverse range of programs and services for our members.”

Per their bylaws, the chamber elects its chairman, first vice chair and second vice chair early to give them ample time to prepare for the new year that starts on July 1.

About the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce

Established in 1925, the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce has been serving the communities of Auburn, Algona, Pacific and unincorporated south King County for 85 years.

The chamber is a private, non-profit, member-supported, volunteer-led organization. Its primary purpose is to focus and direct the resources of the business community to maintain and expand commerce in our region.

The chamber has 500-plus business partners and is governed by a 21-member board of directors. The professional staff consists of four full-time employees and three contractors who carry out the program of work as established by the board.
