CISA, World Vision help bring new shoes to Auburn kids

Communities In Schools of Auburn (CISA) has distributed more than 4,000 new tennis shoes to all 18 elementary and middle schools within the district.

Communities In Schools of Auburn (CISA) has distributed more than 4,000 new tennis shoes to all 18 elementary and middle schools within the district.

The shoes will be used to help students and families in need and to provide a supply for future years.

“One boy’s shoes were too small and the soles were coming off, but his family did not have the money to replace them,” said Leslie Soule, CISA site coordinator at Washington and Dick Scobee elementary schools. “When he got the new tennis shoes he danced through the door with a big smile on his face. It’s been wonderful seeing the children’s expression of delight when they try on the shoes.”

The shoes are the result of a partnership between CISA and the World Vision Storehouse Program. CISA receives essential supplies throughout the year, such as clothing and toiletries that are delivered to Auburn schools based on need. Given the generous nature of this distribution, the organization was able to assist more students.
