Two Des Moines men linked to the shooting death of a man in Auburn on Jan. 10 were arraigned at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center Thursday.

King County Prosecutors have charged Denzil Moore, 44, with first-degree murder for the alleged shooting death of 55-year-old Thomas Humphries. A second defendant, Glae Roland, 34, is facing a charge of rendering criminal assistance in the first degree.

Both men pleaded not guilty.

According to Auburn Police Detective Buie Arneson’s account of events, which forms the basis of the charges against both men, Moore shot and killed 55-year-old Humphries and disposed of his body at a vacant home at 11112 SE 304th St. in Auburn.

According to Arneson’s account, Moore killed Humphries because he believed that his on-again, off-again friend was a child molester. Roland allegedly helped Moore dispose of Humphries bullet-riddled body and conceal evidence.

Case setting is Feb. 29 at the RJC.
