Dog Days at the market

Contest brings out the best in pets and their owners

The Dog Days of Summer returned to the Auburn International Farms Market last Sunday.

Participants showcased their furry friends at a noon dog parade. Prizes were awarded in several categories.

The market is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Sept. 30, at Les Gove Park, 1140 Auburn Way S.

The market offers a variety of farm-based foods, hand crafted items, free community performances and several educational sessions on health, nutrition, canning and gardening.
