Early morning fire in Auburn displaces 7 occupants

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to and extinguished a fire that damaged a residential complex in Auburn early Friday morning, displacing seven people.

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.

Estimated damage is approximately $100,000.

The VRFA was dispatched to a reported commercial fire at 3:23 a.m. in the 2200 Block of O Street Northeast in Auburn. Arriving firefighters found heavy fire showing from a first-floor unit in a two-story, four-unit residential complex.

Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire, extinguishing it while protecting adjacent exposures.

A search of the building confirmed all seven occupants were able to safely evacuate.

Fire investigators are determining the fire’s cause and origin.

Property management helped relocate the displaced residents.
