Feb. 8

Service aid: 8:13 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a disabled man who had fallen and couldn’t get back up. Firefighters helped him back into his wheelchair and examined him for injuries. After finding none, firefighters left him at home with his caregiver.

Feb. 9

Aid call: 1:12 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Valley Com dispatched firefighters and paramedics to an unconscious and unresponsive woman. Firefighters immediately determined the woman had been without signs of life for a long time and pronounced her dead at the scene. Auburn Police investigated the incident, and a VRFA chaplain was dispatched to the scene to help the family.

Feb. 10

Car accident: 5:48 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a car accident at Southeast 304th and 132nd Avenue Southeast found a two-car “T-bone” accident blocking the intersection. Firefighters treated two patients for minor injuries, and a private ambulance transported them to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Feb. 11

Car Fire: 1:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to the 1200 block of 16th Street Northeast for a report of a car fire and found a 1979 van with smoke pouring out of the passenger window. Firefighters snuffed a fire in the dashboard and found that a multi-plug adapter plugged into the dashboard was to blame.

Feb. 12

Car accident: 3:30 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters helped a woman on southbound Highway 167 with injuries she sustained in a two-car accident. The woman was complaining of neck and back pain, so firefighters stabilized her and a private ambulance carried her off to ARMC.

Feb. 13

Aid Call: 10:41 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a fall victim at a gymnastic event at Auburn Mountain View High School, found a young girl who had suffered an injury to her neck and back. Firefighters used a back board and cervical collar to stabilize the girl, and a private ambulance transported her to ARMC.

Feb. 14

Aid call: 1:49 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters and King County Paramedics helped treat a woman for uncontrolled bleeding while vomiting. King County Paramedics transported her to ARMC for further treatment.
