Hlavka elected to state’s recycling board

Sharon Hlavka, a principal of the environmental consulting firm Green Solutions, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Washington State Recycling Association.

The election results were announced during the association’s recent Conference & Trade Show in Yakima.

Prior to joining Green Solutions, Hlavka gained 15 years of local government experience with the City of Shelton, Thurston County and the City of Auburn. Her term on the WSRA Board will run two years.

The WSRA, formed in 1976, is the trade organization that represents Washington’s diverse recycling community. It mission is to provide leadership and education that fosters the expansion, diversity and economic vitality of recycling as part of sustainable resource management. Its 280 member organizations and over 700 individuals include collectors, processors, brokers, agencies at all levels of government, manufacturers who use recycled content, transportation companies, electronics recyclers and others.
