The Puyallup Tribe of Indians, KeyBank and Junior Achievement are in partnership to provide financial literacy summer camps for the Puyallup tribal youth during the month of August.

Named the Puyallup Tribal Leadership Experience, the camps will take place at the state of the art learning center, JA World, in Auburn.

JA World, home to two of Junior Achievement’s capstone programs, JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, will provide the setting for the youth to gain valuable lessons around sound financial decision making and learning the value of investing and saving at an early age.

“The Puyallup Tribe understands that it needs to protect the futures of our youth by providing financial education,” said Puyallup Tribal Council member David Bean stated. “We are excited about the opportunity to work with Junior Achievement in this endeavor.”

The students, age 13-18, will take part in the JA Finance Park program where they will receive seven days of financial literacy and budget training, preparing them for the one day JA Finance Park simulation.

JA Finance Park helps students build a foundation for making intelligent, lifelong, personal financial decisions through hands-on, realistic site-based experiences.

Students also will have the opportunity to learn from a variety of experts in the field of finance as six guest speakers will participate in the camp.
