Lions to hold 5th annual Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby

The Lions of Zone C-3 District 19C will hold its fifth annual Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25 at Auburn Mill Pond Park, 600 Oravetz Road.

The free derby is open to qualified special needs youth, ages 14 and under, along with their siblings and friends who wish to participate. Anglers must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

A limited number of fishing poles and some bait will be supplied by the Green River Steelhead Trout Club. Free expert fishing lessons will be available.

The state of Washington stocked the pond with more than 1,000 legal trout. The Enumclaw Lions Club will clean and package the fish your anglers. The Sumner Lions will provide food and beverage at a nominal cost.

The City of Auburn and the Lions of Zones C-3, including Auburn, Bonney Lake, Covington, Enumclaw, Kent, Puyallup, Federal Way, Federal Way Knights, Fife, Milton/Edgewood, Puyallup, Puyallup Valley, Sumner and White River Valley are sponsoring the event.
