This year’s race included more than 1,900 medical personnel and 3,500 security personnel from local, state and federal agencies.

The course had 26 Red Cross stations, 24 hydrating stations and volunteers serving up more than 35,000 gallons of water in 1.4 million paper cups for runners, volunteers and spectators.

Prior to the race, runners were served a pasta dinner at Boston City Hall by the Wellesley College student body. That meal included more than 11,300 pounds of pasta, 2,825 quarts of tomato sauce, 3,400 pounds of fresh veggies and 100 pounds of ground black pepper. For dessert, 15,000 Easter Bunnies and 97,200 Hershey’s Kisses were handed out.
