A two-car, head-on collision on East Valley Highway Thursday night killed a man and injured a woman, according to the Valley Regional Fire Authority.

Responding at 7:19 p.m. to a reported collision on the highway, just north of the Lake Tapps Parkway, VRFA firefighters and King County Medic One found bystanders performing CPR on a man. Firefighters and paramedics continued CPR, but the man, reported to be in his 60s, died at the scene.

The other vehicle’s occupant, an unidentified woman whom the VRFA has only identified at this time as a woman in her thirties, and presumably the driver, suffered neck and back injuries and was transported in stable condition to Valley Medical Center.

Auburn Police are investigating.
