A man robbed the Wells Fargo Bank inside the Lakeland Hills Top Food & Drug of an unknown amount of cash early Thursday afternoon.

Auburn police said the robber handed a teller a note implying he had a gun, but he never showed a weapon. The robber’s means of escape is unknown.

The 911 call was logged at 12:45 p.m.

Eyewitnesses described the robber to police as a heavyset white man, about 5 feet six inches tall and approximately 45 years of age. He was not wearing a mask.

“Nobody was hurt, and the loss is unknown at this point,” said Auburn Police Sgt. Dave Colglazier, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

The Lakeland Hills Top Food & Drug is located at 1406 Lake Tapps Parkway E.
