Mountainview girls unload at sub-districts, play today for No. 5 seed into West Central Districts | Fastpitch

The Auburn Mountainview fastpitch team scored 24 points in two games last night at the South Puget Sound League/Seamount 3A sub-district tournament in Enumclaw, defeating Tyee 16-1 and beating Lakes 8-3.

In their first round game of the tourney the Lions wasted no time, putting away the Totems in five innings, 16-1.

Senior Kristin Herren got her ninth win of the season, giving up just two hits and striking out five. Herren added three hits at the dish, one a triple, and scored three runs.

Deanna Colburn was 2-of-4 with two runs and Alleyah Armendariz had two hits and a triple. Callie Kirk added three runs and was 3-of-3 batting.

In round two the Lions swept aside SPSL 3A rival Lakes 8-3.

Auburn Mountainview broke open a 3-3 tie with five runs in the fifth inning.

Armendariz pitched a gem, allowing just two hits and striking out five. From the plate the freshman was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Quierra Bradford added a triple and two RBIs.

The Lions will play for the No. 5 seed into the West Central Districts today at 1 p.m. at the Boise Sports Complex in Enumclaw.
