My Spot at the Station, formerly Fields & Co., recently opened at 110 2nd St. SW, Suite 125, next to the Auburn Transit Station.
The restaurant, featuring American fare, will offer morning commuter breakfast specials, espresso and grab-to-go breakfast and lunch sacks. It will soon open a bar to serve drinks.
Owners and managers Liz Giham and Raelyn Adams also are planning events throughout the work week, including Wednesday ladies nights with live music and Sunday market breakfast buffets.
My Spot at the Station will be open 6 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. A grand opening is 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, with live music from 6-8 p.m.

• Becky’s Glamour, specializing in designer apparel, recently opened in the Auburn SuperMall (Suite 1114). The store, owned and managed by Yadira Mejia and Rebecca Saavedra, works with rhinestone heat transfers, offering pre-made designs and those suggested by customers. The store also offers accessories to match apparel, including customized shirts for men and women, jeans, hats, purses, wallets and belts.
In addition, Becky’s Glamour works with organizations, church groups, dance groups and schools.

• Auburn Foreign Car recently earned the Automotive Training Institute award and the Angie’s List Super Service award. The shop, located at 725 Auburn Way N., is owned and operated by Greg Hochhalter.
ATI is a nationwide support network that provides best practices and training to auto repair shops. Hochhaler, one of 12 in the nation to receive the honor, will accept the award in March at Marco Island, Fla.
In addition, Auburn Foreign Car made the Angie’s List for maintaining an average “A” rating throughout the year, based on professionalism, responsiveness, price quality and punctuality. Auburn Foreign Car was one of 20 auto repair shops in the Seattle area to receive the award.
• Rita Santillanes, president of Best Western Peppertree Inn, Auburn, received a BEST (Business and Education Striving to the Top) award, which recognizes minority business groups that launch initiatives targeting the achievement gap.
The King County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Urban Enterprise Center, in partnership with the Kent School District and Kent Chamber of Commerce, recently announced the award.
Santillanes believes that “education is the most important tool anybody can have.” “We encourage our employees to seek any education opportunity available. Not only to better our company, but also to better each individual employee,” she said.
Santillanes added that Peppertree Inns provides different employee education opportunities each year that include incentives. “We will pay for any of our employees to learn Spanish or English and give them a $1,000 bonus if they complete the training. We also allow our employees to find their own educational opportunities and will provide any assistance we can,” she said.
• Valley Bank announced the recent promotions of Greg Jones to executive vice president/credit administrator and Leo Dreith to executive vice president managing wholesale operations in South King and Pierce County.
Jones has been with Valley Bank 19 years and has 32 years of banking experience. He is a graduate of Washington State University, and earned an MBA at Pacific Lutheran University.
Dreith has been with Valley Bank 18 years and has 33 years of banking experience. He is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School and has a BS Degree in Business. Dreith is a Board Member of Elmhurst Mutual Power & Light.

• Valley Community Bancshares, Inc., parent company of Valley Bank (Puyallup), reported earnings of $2.1 million, or $1.84 per diluted share, for the year ending Dec. 31, 2009, compared to $2.4 million, or $2.10 per diluted share, in the previous year.
• Columbia Banking System, Inc., announced its wholly owned subsidiary, Columbia State Bank, has acquired substantially all of the deposits and assets of American Marine Bank from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), which was appointed receiver of the institution. No holding company assets or liabilities were acquired by Columbia State Bank in the transaction.
Columbia will acquire approximately $350 million in assets and approximately $270 million in deposits located in 11 branches, enhancing its presence on the Western Puget Sound. Columbia has two Auburn branch addresses at 2401 Auburn Way N. and 4101 A St. SE.
