The City of Pacific’s Community Center recently hosted a gathering of 40-plus Wounded Warriors and their families.

Pacific City Councilmember Gary “Frosty” Hulsey, past VFW state commander, and his local VFW Post 1949 spearheaded the event. Linda Morris, Pacific’s community services director, orchestrated community organizations to participate. Karen Rames and Darlene Clyde made donations through Pacific Partnerships to fund a new membership to World Vision, which provided gifts. A Pacific Girl Scout troop held a Christmas party at the Senior Center to wrap hundreds of gifts.

There were enough donations also to provide gifts for underserved families in the Pacific and Algona community and some for the Giving Tree in Pacific.

Jerry Rames, Earl Snyder and Karen Rames helped allocate the gifts to distribute to each family that made a request.
