The City of Pacific is organizing a volunteer cleanup effort of recently-purchased property at 130 3rd Ave. SE, across from the fire station.

The work party will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the site. The property – along with the community garden spot at 126 3rd Ave. SE – has been designated as the site of the future community center for senior and youth services and other community events.

“In the interim, we need to clean this property up,” said Pacific Mayor Richard Hildreth. “We are going to clean up trash, separate the recyclables, tear down at least some of the outbuildings and generally make this property safe.”
