Police blotter | March 27

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between March 16 and March 23:

March 16

Theft: Midnight, 310 E. Main St. Between March 1 and March 16, somebody swiped a motor from a Bayliner boat seized in a drug investigation that had been stored at the Auburn Justice Center.

Home burglary: 6:56 p.m., 20 block of H Street Southeast. A woman reported a burglary at her residence sometime during the past two weeks. The suspect or suspects entered an unlocked bedroom window, damaging it and a screen in the process and stole $200 from a money jar, a leatherman tool and an Apple MacBook laptop.

Traffic collision hit and run: 11:35 p.m., 2900 block of R Street Southeast. Yes, there was a collision with a hit-and-run but, beyond those bare facts, police had nothing more to say.

March 21

Shoplifting: 9:15 a.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested an employee of Icing by Claire’s for theft after a manager found stolen merchandise in her purse.

March 22

Swiped it from Freddies: 5 p.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a woman for shoplifting six DVD movies from Fred Meyer worth an undisclosed amount.

Beer boosting: 6 p.m., 1007 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a woman for stealing three cans of Steel Reserve Beer from the Farmer’s Market.

Shoplifting: 7:54 p.m., 12400 SE. 312th St. Somebody stole undisclosed items from a Shell Station. Police thoughtfully shielded the public from the dangerous knowledge of whether a stick of gum or a soda pop or anything else was stolen.

Traffic collision: 9:18 p.m., 200 W. Main St. An unknown suspect driving a semi-truck struck a railroad crossing arm breaking it off at the post.

March 23

Burglary: 5 a.m., 1201 M St. SE. Someone entered the offices of Miles Sand and Gravel over the weekend and swiped candy and change from a vending machine. Police did not disclose a value.

Embezzlement: 5:31 p.m., 3250 block B St. NW. An employee at Industrial Properties INC admitted she embezzled $198,224.98 between Jan. 26 and March 23.
