Police blotter | May 15

Auburn police responded to the following calls for service between May 9 and May 12:

May 9

Vandalism: Overnight, 3700 block of A Street Southeast. A man told police that somebody had smashed the rear window of his truck.

Assault: 11:44 a.m., 2100 block of I Street Northeast. A late-morning argument between a woman and her boyfriend grew so fierce it drew police to a north end home. After speaking to everyone involved, police first arrested the woman for assaulting her boyfriend, then him for lobbing a bottle of lotion at her.

Shoplifting: 1:31 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Two guys tried to abscond from Top Foods with meat they did not own. Police didn’t say if they caught up with the thieves.

Assault: 2:50 p.m., 2400 block of F Street Southeast. Police arrested a woman following an argument she capped by assaulting a man who had informed her that he intended to dump her so he could get back with one of the mothers of his 23 children.

Get out of everywhere: 6:08 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Police told a woman not only to get out of the north end Top Foods, but to keep her person away from every other such store.

Harassment: 6:10 p.m., 100 block of Auburn Way North. A woman called to report that a man had threatened her while she was walking.

Vandalism: 9:02 p.m., 800 block of East Valley Highway. Police arrested three boys for spray painting the pedestrian walkway on Lake Tapps Parkway and East Valley Highway.

Recovered stolen property: 11:50 p.m., 3100 block of Stuck River Drive Southeast. Police recovered two stolen motorcycle engines still attached to the frames.

May 10

Kid and booze: 3 a.m., 4700 block of 55th Street Southeast. Upon finding a young woman at a stranger’s house after she ran away from a party, police arrested her for possessing a fermented beverage before she had reached legal age to possess or guzzle it.

Theft: 1 p.m., 2828 Emerald Downs Drive N.W. Somebody stole miscellaneous property, including a green card and passport, from somebody else at Emerald Downs.

Theft: 6:50 p.m., 2100 block of Auburn Way South. Police arrested a man for using someone else’s Muckleshoot players club card.

Vandalism: 11:24 p.m., 2900 block of I Street Northeast. A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend kicked her front door in after she had asked him to hit the road.

Theft: 12:14 a.m., 2300 block of 27th Place Southeast. Police arrested a man for theft of services and DUI after refusing to pay for a taxi that he had ridden in and then driving away in his own car.

May 11

Assault with a knife: 12:21 a.m., 2200 block of Auburn Way North. A man told police that a woman whacked him with her purse and then pulled a knife on him after she refused to exit his car at a 7/Eleven.

Burglary: 6:30 a.m., 1200 M St. S.E. A man told police that somebody had stolen copper wire from inside a secured gated business.

Theft from building: 5 p.m., 1300 block of West Main Street. A woman working as controller in a manufacturing company allegedly stole about $10,000 by way of forgery and internal theft. The company discovered the theft after the woman was fired for a discrepancy in bookkeeping.

May 12

Shoe thief: 10:54 a.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. Police arrested a man for stealing a pair of shoes from the Burlington Coat Factory.

Burglary: 12:07 p.m., 2200 block of Hemlock Street Southeast. A man caught in the act of burglarizing a house fled before police could get there but officers caught up with him and put at least a temporary stopper in his criminal career a few minutes later some two blocks from the residence.
