The Auburn Police Department and Subway restaurants have joined together to encourage bike safety on local streets.

Auburn police officers will be looking for children on bicycles who are demonstrating safe riding by wearing proper safety gear and following the rules of the road.

When an officer recognizes a child utilizing safe riding techniques, they will be awarded a “Safe Rider Citation” card that can be redeemed for a complimentary 3-inch Subway sandwich at participating Subway restaurants.

One citation can be redeemed per person, per visit. The promotion will take place until the end of the year.

Biking is a fun way for the children of Auburn to be active and get outside, but can be dangerous if safety precautions are not followed.
