Reichert welcomes Youth Advisory Board; Auburn’s Hutchins joins effort

Auburn’s Scott Hutchins was one of 22 youth named to serve on the 2013-2014 Youth Advisory Board.

Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA, 8th District) made the announcement Tuesday at a reception from his district office in Issaquah.

The Youth Advisory Board was first formed in 2011 to get input from the young men and women who will be the future leaders of the country.

“I am honored to be joined by this group of bright young men and women,” Reichert said. “Today’s youth are very informed and understand that federal policy affects us all, no matter how young or old. Therefore, it is especially important to hear everyone’s opinion. These young people will also one day be in charge of leading this nation, so I believe that encouraging them to get involved now can only be a benefit to this state and this country.”
