The Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS) has honored Sen. Pam Roach (R-Auburn) with its 2014 Legislator of the Year award. It’s the sixth time Roach has received the highest recognition presented by WACOPS, which represents more than 4,500 uniformed police officers and deputy sheriffs in Washington.

“As someone who helps make our laws, I especially appreciate the hard work and sacrifice that is required to enforce those laws,” said Roach. “Police officers and deputy sheriffs are on the front line. They put their lives at risk, every day, to protect the lives and property of our citizens.”

The annual award is presented by WACOPS to the legislator who has demonstrated the strongest commitment to the law-enforcement community.

Roach is president pro tempore of the Senate and chairs the Senate Government Operations and Security Committee.
