Sign up now for Auburn’s Relay for Life; sponsors, volunteers needed

Individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up now for the May 13 Auburn Relay For Life, a benefit for the American Cancer Society.

Individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up now for the May 13 Auburn Relay For Life, a benefit for the American Cancer Society.

The relay will begin at 6 p.m. May 13 and run until noon May 14 at Auburn Memorial Stadium, 801 4th St. NE.

“The relay is real important to our community,” said Ashley Thordarson, one of the event’s lead organizers. “Every little bit counts. … We are one of the strongest communities. We greatly appreciate everything that is done for the relay each year.”

Relay organizers need sponsors and volunteers.

There is a relay team meeting for the committee at 6 p.m. April 13 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 410 H St. NE. A team captains’ meeting follow at 7. Team members need to be registered by the meeting with shirt sizes in order to get a shirt.
