Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby set for Auburn Mill Pond Park

The Lions of Zone C-3 District 19C will host its sixth annual Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., April 24 at the Auburn Mill Pond Park, located at 600 Oravetz Road.

The Lions of Zone C-3 District 19C will host its sixth annual Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., April 24 at the Auburn Mill Pond Park, located at 600 Oravetz Road.

Preschool and school-age special needs youth are invited to the free derby. Please bring a fishing rod and bait. Siblings and friends are welcome.

A limited amount of fishing rods and bait will be available.

State officials will stock the pond with more than 1,000 fish. Lions Club members will clean and package fish for participants. Sumner Lions will provide food and beverages at a nominal cost.

The City of Auburn, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife are sponsoring the event, with contributions from the Green River Steelhead Trout Club.
